Well it has certainly been busy, and at my current pace of life, I don't think things will get any slower or less filled in. Lots of busy last week scheduling has taken place, cancels reschedules etc etc. Such is life, but at least I have found the time to post this.
I am glad to say that I finished the Lord's Prayer Cross-stitch project on the 21st of July:
2/24/2010
4/30/2010
5/7/2010
6/11/2010
6/26/2010
7/12/2010
7/18/2010
7/21/2010
I have enjoyed and loathed doing this project, but in the end it has been worth it. I have been able to concentrate on the purpose of prayer and found a good article on the subject: http://www.be-ready.org/howpray.html in the process. So I would like to encourage you to read into Matthew 6:5-15 as I think so many of us have looked over it without giving it much study.
Another blessing is that we were able to have a Child Bible Missions this last month and also help out with the Shores' Bible Club this August. I would like to thank the Devers Family and the Shore Family for the help and encouragement they gave to ours (if they ever read this). Below is also a long, unprofessional quick *cough* (long) movie that I attempted to create with what I had. May it encourage you to live for Him.

Hey all, it has been a slow week. The last couple of weeks it has been warm/hot/humid: 60-80 F with relatively high humidity for here. Enjoyed reading at the library a couple of times this week. Will be working more shifts next week so won't be able to go as often. I'm finally reached Hezekiah and Isaiah this week, and now at king Josiah since yesterday - the line of kings of Judah and Israel have otherwise been so depressing as they continually reject God and war against each other while their enemies overpower them. 57 days till college (8 weeks rounded down) 2 months sounds so much farther away...but it must come and for the better. I finished another color to the cross-stitch project - got yellow done:
Before I go I end with part of a book I read this week which I thought was interesting and also amusing for one as I who likes to write:
Putting aside the need to earn a living, I think there are four great motives for writing, at any rate for writing prose. They exist in different degrees in every writer, and in any one writer the proportions will vary from time to time, according to the atmosphere in which he is living. They are: 1. Sheer egoism. Desire to seem clever, to be talked about, to be remembered after death, to get your own back on grown-ups who subbed you in childhood, etc. etc. It is humbug to pretend that this is not a motive, and a strong one. Writers share this characteristic with scientists, artists, politicians, lawyers, soldiers, successful businessmen – in short, with the whole top crust of humanity. The great mass of human beings are not acutely selfish. After the age of about thirty [at least in his era – put the average age group up to 20-70 – should be as soon as possible if you are a true living/practicing Christian] they abandon individual ambition – in many cases, indeed, they almost abandon the sense of being individuals at all – and live chiefly for others, or are simply smothered under drudgery. But there is also the minority of gifted, wilful people who are determined to live their own lives to the end, and writers belong in this class. Serious writers, I should say, are on the whole more vain and self-cantered than journalists, though less interested in money. 2. Aesthetic enthusiasm. Perception of beauty in the external world, or, on the other hand, in words and their right arrangement. Pleasure in the impact of one sound on another, in the firmness of good prose or the rhythm of a good story. Desire to share an experience which one feels is valuable and ought not to be missed. The aesthetic motive is very feeble in a lot of writer, but even a pamphleteer or a writer of textbooks will have pet words and phrases which appeal to him for non-utilitarian reasons; or he may feel strongly about typography, width of margins, etc. Above the level of a railway guide, no book is quite free from aesthetic considerations.
3. Historical impulse. Desire to see things as they are, to find out true facts and store them up for the use of posterity. 4. Political purpose – using the word ‘political’ in the widest possible sense. Desire to push the world in a certain direction, to alter other people’s idea of the kind of society that they should strive after. Once again, no book is genuinely free from political bias. The opinion that art should have nothing to do with politics is itself a political attitude. ... When I sit down to write a book, I do not say to myself, ‘I am going to produce a work of art.’ I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose, some fact to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a hearing. But I could not do the work of writing a book, or even a long magazine article, if it were not also an aesthetic experience...All writers are vain, selfish and lazy, and at the very bottom of their motives there lies a mystery. Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand... and yet it is also true that one can write nothing readable unless one constantly struggles to efface one’s own personality. Good prose is like a window pane. I cannot say with certainty which of my motives are the strongest, but I know which of them deserve to be followed. And looking back through my work, I see that it is invariably where I lacked a political purpose that I wrote lifeless books and was betrayed into purple passages, sentences without meaning, decorative adjectives and humbug generally.
George Orwell Why I Write: Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind (Penguin Books – Great Ideas) 2004 Ed. – pp. 4-10

Am almost feeling my health is back to normal now. Been trying to catch up on some things again, but still am finding I can only get so much done. Of late, even from before getting sick I've been having a hard time studying/keeping focused in general. Because I teach myself, I lack someone to motivate me or to encourage me to keep going - so I've been struggling. Prayers would appreciated. =7
Lately, I've been trying to get more out of my devotions but am still finding it hard because I only know what to do roughly. I mean I read the passage, prayer for understanding. But even that only gives me so much to take and use for the day. I want to buy some Bible Reference materials when I go to college and some Bible Hermeneutics books.
I've been reading Hebrews for NT and 2 Kings OT. Am having a difficult time disguising between the Northern and Southern kingdom at times because sometimes names repeat by their grandsons. If anyone knows a link which gives a diagram of the kingly lines of both kingdoms I would be grateful for it. I found this link: http://www.biblestudymanuals.net/kingdoms_of_Israel.htm - I encourage you to read it if you have any interest.
I have work today, so I don't know what I'm going to get done before than - might work some more on that cross-stitch project - the sooner it's done and over with the better - never again (time permitting)
Hope you are doing well, bye for now

Although I thought I was getting better I've still been ill since Wednesday. So I haven't got a whole lot done, but it has allowed me to get some of my cross-stitch done. Being sick hasn't given me much energy to do a whole lot. So my room is a mess, haven't kept up with my exercises, am behind on karate, haven't practiced piano as much.... o well? Haven't been using Paint.net or GIMP for a while either- kinda ran out of ideas. With what I know I only gets so far because I've been teaching myself which takes a lot longer. Plus, I don't have as much time to learn with it because I've been working more shifts, yet I'm thankful for the extra money I'm earning for college.
This is how far I've got on the Lord's Prayer in cross-stitch - I would never have done it if A) unless this person who asked me to do it was a friend of the family and B) if I had known how big it was: I finished all the green stitches:
Another food for thought that I have thought of posting on in the past but haven't got round to it. Have you ever spent the time and thought of how many variations of one song there have been? I know in church hymns there are special arrangements but have you ever heard a song that was the same lyrics but a different tune or melody that sounded just as good or better within 50 years - not just hundreds of years?
For instance, one my favorite songs when sung in variation (I don't really care for the oldest versions) is Somewhere Over the Rainbow:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0-um0pHTAg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm5sUlOuJ0U
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19mDVt6q6Vg (copying Izzy's reworking of the song)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSI0ZStEnfw (my favorite version)
Just makes me think. If songs that aren't Christian in origin that people sing that are saved or not can be this beautiful/inspiring don't we as Christians have a special commitment to fill in the gap with the songs we sing and write that are so devoted solely to God that they show His goodness and beauty to others?
Anyway take care dear readers, bye for now.

Several weeks ago I decided not to put up with little to no shifts. So I decided to do something about. Firstly I prayed that I would get some more shifts and then decided to take further action my talking to my manger in charge of shifts after emailing my store manager for extra shifts while also informing her that I had more flexibility for (when morning-night) I could work because I no longer had school.
What happened: God gave me more shift and I ended up also working every single day of the next week - The Lord be praised. Was given four shifts took an extra shift from someone else and on the Wednesday that I wasn't scheduled for Mcdonalds I did two gardening jobs (I use to be a busy gardener) for two different people.
This week I worked Monday, Tuesday, and part of today because after my brake I asked to leave after feeling very ill: migraine from not wearing my glasses soon enough, sore throat that I already had, feeling nauseous, and sore. So went home slept for two and an a half hours after taking two tablets of ibuprofen and than waking up - still sore but the fever left so I took two paracetamol (Tylenol equivalent) for the headache. I am feeling better now, just hope I don't feel like this again.
Was blessed when reading this morning Morning and Evening :
Ps 126:3
"The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad." --Psalm 126:3
Some Christians are sadly prone to look on the dark side of everything, and to dwell more upon what they have gone through than upon what God has done for them. Ask for their impression of the Christian life, and they will describe their continual conflicts, their deep afflictions, their sad adversities, and the sinfulness of their hearts, yet with scarcely any allusion to the mercy and help which God has vouchsafed them. But a Christian whose soul is in a healthy state, will come forward joyously, and say, "I will speak, not about myself, but to the honour of my God. He hath brought me up out of an horrible pit, and out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings: and He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God. The Lord hath done great things for me, whereof I am glad." Such an abstract of experience as this is the very best that any child of God can present. It is true that we endure trials, but it is just as true that we are delivered out of them. It is true that we have our corruptions, and mournfully do we know this, but it is quite as true that we have an all-sufficient Saviour, who overcomes these corruptions, and delivers us from their dominion. In looking back, it would be wrong to deny that we have been in the Slough of Despond, and have crept along the Valley of Humiliation, but it would be equally wicked to forget that we have been through them safely and profitably; we have not remained in them, thanks to our Almighty Helper and Leader, who has brought us "out into a wealthy place." The deeper our troubles, the louder our thanks to God, who has led us through all, and preserved us until now. Our griefs cannot mar the melody of our praise, we reckon them to be the bass part of our life's song, "He hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad."
that's all for now - thanks for reading

Hey everyone,
Football went okay, it rained for most of the first half, and stayed off for about the next half.
Spoke at halftime on the topic of choosing Christ, and how that it is because of our souls that God has given us that we have a choice to whom we serve - apparently I wasn't loud enough, but they said I spoke okay - it's funny how I don't speak loud enough for a speech but they say I talk the loudest in the house... o well. I only had about five min. to speak so it meant revising over and over to get two pages of information into just the one:
Okay well today, with the time available, I would like to talk on the important difference between someone that chooses to follow Christ and one that doesn't.To show you by this one choice how it effects your soul.
So what is the "soul"?
Well it says in the first book of the Bile in Gen 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of ground, - We know this to be true because science has revealed that our bodies are made up of the same elements of the earth. (verse continued)"...and [God] breathed into his nostrils [Adam] the breath of life; and man became a living soul." It is this soul of yours that enables you to understand what is right and wrong, and allows you to choose which to do. This is true because you know when you've been wronged or done good to. [give various example]
Now why then, if this is true, is this important for you?
Well, you've probably heard of people selling their soul on eBay (I'd probably only get about a pound [1.75 dollars] ). Joking aside, in reality this can't happen. You can't give your soul away because it's the part of you that you will always keep because to lose it would be to cease to exist, you'd have a body, but you'd be brain dead. It is something God has given you, and only something He can take away:
Mt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
It is with your soul that you decide/choose who you are serving.
Something you have to realize: You can't serve both God and Satan - you can't serve neither either: Mt 6:24 "No man can serve two master: (Jesus goes onto to say if he were to try) . . . he will hold to the one [God or Satan ultimately], and despise the other . . ."
Who you serve depends on your choice between serving God or yourself - it is not a democracy in which you get to choose at the bottom on the page: "other" or even not to vote all all - you will serve one or the other.
Okay, but if it's this simple, why do you do bad things when you try to do good ones? Isn't it strange, it's like the more you try to be nice the harder it becomes. Why is that? I mean if it's just a matter of making a choice, why can you do what you intend to do when you want to do it?
Well it says in Galatians 5:17 "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."
And this is because Adam choose to disobey God, and so by his one action we, all being his descendants, have inherited the consequence of having a body that tends to sin [the flesh].
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Think about it - which is easier: to be mean or to be nice? You might try to be one or the other, but which can you be with the least amount of effort? Bad right?
The good news is that God has a plan for you, that plan was His sending His Son to die on the cross for us:
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Who are you going to serve? Yourself, were has that got you so far? Only serving God is a life worth living - being a Christian is not an ideal life - not, it's a real life.
Who are you serving?
Thanks for all your prayers about me speaking, it was/is appreciated.
I got my ACT stores today - I did about what I thought I guessed it would be 20-22 - which isn't that great but hey, I tried my best (or close to) - Firstly, I wasn't use to a timed test, especially on paper compared to online - so I did worst on my first test, and the rest were okay. It's not a make low score fail life test so hahaha, at least I know where I'm at I guess. Hope all is well...I'll write later some time, maybe with some pictures next time. bfn =7

Still been having fairly nice days.
Got some more of the cross-stitch project finished:
Will be working tomorrow - I have applied/asked to work full time now at Mcdonalds as I am done with school until college.
Still reading the memory enhancement book but am having a hard time understanding parts of it. Or seeing how it helps.
Still using Paint.NET - will be exploring the usefulness of the free image editor GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) - sorry name for a program but if it works I will use it.
Some stuff I've done so far:
fire representing the obvious

kinda hard to see in this size - suppose to be Jesus walking into the temple of our bodies to light a candle of light in our hearts (the inner temple/holy of holys) - He is light, and without Him we are in total darkness.

hope all is well - bfn

The past couple of days have been beautiful. Sunshine, white clouds, green grass - the very stereotype of a beautiful day. It has made some nice pictures.
Got a little more done on the cross-stitch project:
I have also been experimenting with Paint.net - that has been interesting - I wish to use the photo-editing experience to aid in any way to illustrate Bible truths - eventually - how I will do this, I am still not certain, but I think I might be able to use my artistic talents for Him in some way in this area would be great - so here's for trying...:
(was trying/experimenting with reflections - here I did one with text - the other one is a manipulation to do a kind of Matrix effect; the last one is to mimic a water ripple effect.)

I'm happy to say that I passed those two Mcdonalds tests
I did better on the Literacy Test than on the Numeracy Test (both Level 2)
Literacy Test I got 38/40 (I'm so pleased) - passing mark was 26/40
Numeracy I got 32/40 (still good) - passing mark was 20/40
I will have two certificates from passing theses tests - so they will be on my CV, so that is good
thankyou all that were praying about me taking those tests,
till next time...

I'm done with school now until college in the fall, took the two Mcd's tests I had been waiting ages for to get finished. Will be sending the rest of my information required for MBBC this and next month.
Jacob and I start college August the 27th and will be flying from Scotland a few days before this. I hope it's enough time - it will have to be because dad already booked the flights and paid the money. We will be having several layovers until we land in Indiana where Mr. Locke, Dad's best friend, will pick us up and afterwords drive us up to Maranatha. That's the plan so far.
For those of you who have been unable to contact me through calebcaleb178@yahoo.co.uk - you can also write to me by email using my college address at: caleb.dillman@mbbc.edu.
Other than that I've been working, reading my books, and exploring the capabilities with Paint.net

The ACT Tests are over - for better or for worse

The day before the tests we went charity-shop-searching for whatever we could fine - which wasn't much really - but enjoyed all the neat buildings but was gutted because even though I brought my camera I unintentionally left it at the hotel =/ saying that it was still fairly fun.
Jacob and I took the five ACT test exams this morning. We all got up around 6 a.m. - got showers eat a little bit of breakfast food - for those of us who hadn't had enough we went to McDonalds. We were the first people to get there (around 7:35 a.m.) got in about 7:20 a.m. (we got there before the tests examiner and even the security guard).
Jacob didn't think the tests where too difficult but I would say about 30% of each of my tests where guesses because I ran out of time on all of them. It was a lot harder (to me) that all the practice tests I had taken. So...after around 5-8 weeks we'll see how we did. If Jacob does better than me, I won't be surprised. We finished the tests about half noon.
Got picked up, then drove back home.
On the way back we went to and saw Stonehaven - nice harbor took a couple of pictures - then we drove to Dunnottar Castle (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunnottar_Castle ) which was only about 2-3 miles away. Took a lot of nice pictures there - the weather was great for it. I wish the pictures showed the beauty of the place better.
I am going to try to make my Blogger set-up/layout different starting from now between next week - haven't been on enough to re-learn how to do that again.
Currently, I am trying to become a Crew Trainer at McDonalds - pray that I will get accepted if that is God's Will - I will be 11 out 7 possible Crew Trainer jobs. Also I will be taking a test (for the purpose of making my résumé [curriculum vitae (CV)] look better) I will be taking the 23rd if everything works out.
I hope everyone is doing well bfn

Thursday,
Just finished dinner and I am watching Facing the Giants, after coming back from playing football outdoors. We played football outdoors for about 20 minutes and then found out that we weren't suppose to be out side playing til next week, so we went back to playing indoors.
I visited Janet today. I didn't find a good opportunity to witness to her this time because I was doing gardening. I find the best time to witness to her is when I just go over visit when a gardening chore isn't needed to be done. But, I was blessed to read yesterday, in my personal Bible studying, in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 [verses 20-28, 42-50; 51-57]. I believe the Lord has given me this chapter especially for her, to show her that Life after death is a reality, and that she needs to accept Christ.
A couple of days ago I had a good, bright walk to the Library, then to the High-street, then to David books shop, and then back home.
(snow drops below)
(Where Daniel works, at David's Bookshop)
(the building Muslims have paid to work on that I walked past on the way back home)
I have been watching math lessons on youtube by Salman Kahn (not the actor) you can see what he does on the following site: http://www.khanacademy.org/
he has helped me grasped some of the problems in math I would have otherwise failed to understand.
Prayer Requests:
Janet that she would get saved
Shannon, a friend of mine, has back problems and is having really bad pain from it - pray that even in her pain the Lord would teach her something she would otherwise miss or not see from this experience, and that the pain wouldn't hinder her school studies.
Grandmother, will have to have re-constructional surgery due to her breast cancer - pray for her recovery and that the Lord would keep her from anxiety.
I think that's it for now, hope to hear from you guys...bfn

greets,
OK, let's see - this week has been one of the first in a while that I am not working either Friday or Saturday. We've had snow, rain, and heavy frost all on this week.
Progress on my cross-stitch project: (blue - stitches I've done, red - not done)
Prayer Request:
Found out yesterday, that my Grandmother (Dad's mom) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - to add to that this is the same cancer her younger sister died of this year - so please pray that chemo and further surgery will completely get rid of it.
Football kids this Thursday - it would so cool if one of them got saved this week

G. C. T. Bowen, B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science)
A. G. G. Richards, B.Sc.
I. R. Vesselo, M.Ed. (Masters of Education), B.Sc.
R. W. Webster, M.A. (CANTAB. - which I think is referring to a member of the University of Cambridge)
R. Wesley, B.Sc.
A book I especially like because it gives numerous examples of application (which without - I think math is nearly worthless for the average person)
Rousseau - Émile, or Education (1969) - considered by Rousseau (according to Wikipedia) to be the “best and most important of all my writings”. On its first appearance in 1762 it was publicly burned.
Technically it's five books in one, but this book I do not intend to burn. I have found some of his logic in it valid, but it being one of Rousseau I will be taking it with a pinch of salt...
read about 1/3 and decided would be better to read it in parts at a time to understand it more fully etc...
teach yourself home education (2009) by Deborah Durbin
saw this at the library and thought I would update myself on the benefits and minuses of homeschooling and some of its technicalities
Some of you may know I'm looking into teacher - so something else I wanted to read up on that I found from the library -
What Every Teacher Should Know About - The Profession and Politics of Teaching by Donna Walker Tileston, Ed. D (Doctor of Education degree) - pretty good book
Prayer Requests:
I would like you to pray for a friend Michelle. She needs a job, suitable for her, as jobs are hard to get these days.
Janet Frew - an 88 yr old lady I visit every other week - pray that she gets saved this year
Alan Mantle - that he would get saved this year - a good friend to the family and personal friend to Dad who plays snooker with him once a week on Monday Nights
Bill and Anne Brand - a atheist husband and catholic wife - that they would get saved this year
The Masters - Single parent mom and her two children, which one might be saved - but that they would truly get saved
Study, study, study

Yep, I've begun to do it finally. I did some practice stuff for my ACT - not looking forward to it - I don't think I will do so well and it scares me haha, But have no fear Jesus is near so... pray for me guys =D
On top of that I have a pile of books here that I wish to read through before I go to college ( if I can in time...)

For me this is my Mt. Everest at the moment =p .
So let me go through them one at a time:

Exhibit A) is as reads SHAM How the Self-Help Movement Made America Helpless (2005) by Steve Salerno
I've read 8 of about 12 Chapter (if you include the conclusion) and it has been pretty revealing and there is some useful facts in there to know about.
Exhibit B)
What Every Pastor Needs to Know about
Music, Youth and Education (1986)
Pretty good so far... I've read all the chapters on music by Garth Bolinder and have Youth by Tom McKee and Education by John R. Cionca yet to read.

Exhibit C) The much more famous Common Sense, Rights of Man, etc (2003 - reprint) by the much quoted Thomas Paine
Exhibit D) below - an in depth read of the concept of Free will The Freedom of the Will by J.R. Lucas (1970) , some of it I would say is probably beyond me, but yet a fascinating read

Exhibit E) below another deep read - The Ethics of Aristotle (1897) 2nd Ed (?) - still need to start reading this one (really nice book from what I can tell)

Exhibit F) The Scottish Educational System (1971) by S. Leslie Hunter
Have only read one chapter on this book, but I have found to cover a lot of ground - illustrates the difference on the Scottish Education System compared to England and the rest of the UK

Exhibit G) Spelling An Element in Written Expression (1981) by Robert L. Hillerich
those who know me fairly well, a subject this book goes over that I especially could use to improve my inadequate spelling talents =)P
Exhibit H) [I sure am going through the alphabet here] Phonics, Linguistics, and Reading (1972) by Dolores Durkin

Will make this short, I have to get ready for work in about half an hr. Today, I got a pack in the mail from Maranatha. Have a lot of forms to fill in. Will be going in the fall of this year, scary. I would just encourage you guys to get ready for college because it always comes sooner than later. If you don't know what you're going to be doing at college that's fine, just try working on a little of everything. I would still say I'm not sure what I will be doing exactly, but we should all try to be prepared for what we will be doing for the rest of our lives. God might only reveal part of His will for you at a time, but that shouldn't stop you from preparing. I'm going to start posting prayer requests on here next week and I hope you might look over at them and remember them in your personal prayers. that's all for now...

Hello all,
This is my second second attempt to create a blog-journal on Blogger, the first time I messed up on the email - accidentally creating a email that didn't exist. When I deleted that account, Blogger tells me I somehow already created a Blogger account with calebcaleb178@yahoo.com, which to me doesn't make any sense, because I don't remember doing so, hmmm an identify fraud perhaps?
My Bible Blog: http://findingtruthsfromhisword.blogspot.com/ still is running for those who would still like to look at that.
I did mention before about creating a website. This is still my goal, but it will probably take me quite some time to set up a fully working, well rounded website. So, most likely I will be using this blog for a quite a while. Let me know on any updates on your Prayer Requests, and I will try to do the same. Anything else you would like me know you can always email me at calebcaleb178@yahoo.com or calebcaleb178@yahoo.co.uk until such time as I change email accounts (again). Anyways, take care and God bless
