Hey everyone,

Football went okay, it rained for most of the first half, and stayed off for about the next half.
Spoke at halftime on the topic of choosing Christ, and how that it is because of our souls that God has given us that we have a choice to whom we serve - apparently I wasn't loud enough, but they said I spoke okay - it's funny how I don't speak loud enough for a speech but they say I talk the loudest in the house... o well. I only had about five min. to speak so it meant revising over and over to get two pages of information into just the one:

Okay well today, with the time available, I would like to talk on the important difference between someone that chooses to follow Christ and one that doesn't.To show you by this one choice how it effects your soul.

So what is the "soul"?

Well it says in the first book of the Bile in Gen 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of ground, - We know this to be true because science has revealed that our bodies are made up of the same elements of the earth. (verse continued)"...and [God] breathed into his nostrils [Adam] the breath of life; and man became a living soul." It is this soul of yours that enables you to understand what is right and wrong, and allows you to choose which to do. This is true because you know when you've been wronged or done good to. [give various example]

Now why then, if this is true, is this important for you?

Well, you've probably heard of people selling their soul on eBay (I'd probably only get about a pound [1.75 dollars] ). Joking aside, in reality this can't happen. You can't give your soul away because it's the part of you that you will always keep because to lose it would be to cease to exist, you'd have a body, but you'd be brain dead. It is something God has given you, and only something He can take away:

Mt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

It is with your soul that you decide/choose who you are serving.

Something you have to realize: You can't serve both God and Satan - you can't serve neither either: Mt 6:24 "No man can serve two master: (Jesus goes onto to say if he were to try) . . . he will hold to the one [God or Satan ultimately], and despise the other . . ."

Who you serve depends on your choice between serving God or yourself - it is not a democracy in which you get to choose at the bottom on the page: "other" or even not to vote all all - you will serve one or the other.

Okay, but if it's this simple, why do you do bad things when you try to do good ones? Isn't it strange, it's like the more you try to be nice the harder it becomes. Why is that? I mean if it's just a matter of making a choice, why can you do what you intend to do when you want to do it?

Well it says in Galatians 5:17 "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

And this is because Adam choose to disobey God, and so by his one action we, all being his descendants, have inherited the consequence of having a body that tends to sin [the flesh].

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Think about it - which is easier: to be mean or to be nice? You might try to be one or the other, but which can you be with the least amount of effort? Bad right?

The good news is that God has a plan for you, that plan was His sending His Son to die on the cross for us:

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Who are you going to serve? Yourself, were has that got you so far? Only serving God is a life worth living - being a Christian is not an ideal life - not, it's a real life.

Who are you serving?

Thanks for all your prayers about me speaking, it was/is appreciated.

I got my ACT stores today - I did about what I thought I guessed it would be 20-22 - which isn't that great but hey, I tried my best (or close to) - Firstly, I wasn't use to a timed test, especially on paper compared to online - so I did worst on my first test, and the rest were okay. It's not a make low score fail life test so hahaha, at least I know where I'm at I guess. Hope all is well...I'll write later some time, maybe with some pictures next time. bfn =7

Still been having fairly nice days.

Got some more of the cross-stitch project finished:

Will be working tomorrow - I have applied/asked to work full time now at Mcdonalds as I am done with school until college.

Still reading the memory enhancement book but am having a hard time understanding parts of it. Or seeing how it helps.

Still using Paint.NET - will be exploring the usefulness of the free image editor GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) - sorry name for a program but if it works I will use it.

Some stuff I've done so far:

fire representing the obvious

kinda hard to see in this size - suppose to be Jesus walking into the temple of our bodies to light a candle of light in our hearts (the inner temple/holy of holys) - He is light, and without Him we are in total darkness.

hope all is well - bfn
